  The European Union, Japan, South Korea, China, the USA and Russia are jointly preparing the next step in fusion energy research and development through participation in Transitional Arrangements (ITA) leading up to construction of ITER (= "the way" in Latin) project. ITER is aimed at demonstrating the scientific and technological feasibility of fusion energy; it is a model for international collaboration in science and technology.
