- Daily xine RPMS with CSS support (Linux DVD player)
This is an "unofficial" xine release. "Unofficial" just because the xine project does not officially distribute any binary or compiled packages. xine is free software and the source code is always available and licensed under GPL. "Linux DVD Player" is here so you can google for it ;-) The provided RPMS are built automatically everyday from xine's Sourceforge CVS. This is all you need to play DVDs in linux (with full menu support) and the other media formats xine can handle. For more information please check the xine homepage.

- Default Password List
Stumbled onto this just today - some whacky German has compiled a list of the default passwords to a couple zillion of the most common devices - including CMOS passwords for PC systems. I particularly like all the default passwords for many of the wireless devices - sure, I know the defaults for Linksys but there's lots of others I don't know. I can say that of the ones I do know this list is accurate.

- More speed dials? There you go! - Remco's piece of the Opera-web - by Remco Lanting
As some of you may know, there is sometimes information hidden in a compiled application that is not visible at first. Sometimes they are easter eggs, other times they are features that are not enabled yet.Just because I can I sometimes poke around in the compiled application to see if there is anthing interesting. To get the unpacked dll (yes, the windows version), you need to unpack it with UPX first. In the unpacked dll are binary strings that show/do a lot of stuff, but the one I found was until now unknown and does something a lot of people were asking for: it allows a custom number of speed dials. To make use of this hidden feature, just add this to you speeddial.ini file[1]:

- RareWares - Debian GNU/Linux Repository - by xmixahlx
Welcome to the RareWares Debian GNU / Linux Repository! Here you will find some custom compiled software (i.e. *NOT* official Debian-maintained software). These packages are built for the Debian UNSTABLE branch (a.k.a: Sid) and in a few cases even the Debian EXPERIMENTAL branch (a.k.a Scud) at this time. (i.e, the chroot is unstable/experimental/rarewares sources)
