Enterprise Volume Management System The Enterprise Volume Management System (EVMS) Project has the goal of providing unparalleled flexibility and extensibility in managing storage. It represents a new approach to logical volume management for Linux. The architecture introduces a plug-in model that allows for easy expansion and customization of various levels of volume management. EVMS provides a single, unified system for handling all of your storage management tasks. EVMS recognizes all of the disks on your system and allows for a variety of partitioning schemes. Software-RAID and logical volume groups can be managed in EVMS. Filesystems can be created and checked, and are automatically updated when changes are made to the underlying volumes. With EVMS, there is no longer a need for s... in linuxwith linuxenterprisevolumemanagementsystemevmsprojectgoalby 3 users

HomePage: Linux HA The basic goal of the High Availability Linux project is to: Provide a high availability (clustering) solution for Linux which promotes reliability, availability, and serviceability (RAS) through a community development effort. The Linux-HA project is a widely used and important component in many interesting High Availability solutions, and ranks as among the best HA software packages for any platform. We estimate that we currently have more than thirty thousand installations up in mission-critical uses in the real world since 1999. Interest in this project continues to grow. These web pages are average nearly 20000 hits per day, and we see more than 100 downloads of Heartbeat per day. availabilityclusterfreefreebsdhigh-availabilityopenposixreliabilityserviceabilitysoftwaresolarissourceunix in Public bookmarkswith availabilitybasicclusteringgoallinuxprojectprovidesolutionby 6 users
Keepalived for Linux - Linux High Availability The main goal of the keepalived project is to add a strong & robust keepalive facility to the Linux Virtual Server project. This project is written in C with multilayer TCP/IP stack checks. Keepalived implements a framework based on three family checks : Layer3, Layer4 & Layer5/7. This framework gives the daemon the ability of checking a LVS server pool states. When one of the server of the LVS server pool is down, keepalived informs the linux kernel via a setsockopt call to remove this server entrie from the LVS topology. In addition keepalived implements an independent VRRPv2 stack to handle director failover. So in short keepalived is a userspace daemon for LVS cluster nodes healthchecks and LVS directors failover. in Public bookmarkswith addgoalkeepalivedmainprojectrobuststrongby 3 users
klik - point-and-klik software Goal: to make all debian applications klik-able, and more. klik is the easiest way to install software, even while running as non-root user or from a Live-CD. Because one software package is always exactly just one compressed cmg file, you can always delete software packages without any problems for other software. Because you can save cmg files everywhere, this solution is very flexible. linux in Public bookmarkswith goaldebianapplicationsklik-ableinstallsoftwarerunningby 10 users
Ono - A Delicious Way to Improve Large-Object Downloads (for the Azureus BitTorrent Client) The main goal of this plugin is simple -- to improve download speeds for your BitTorrent client. For most P2P applications, the decision regarding which peer to download from is generally arbitrary. When most peers offer good download performance, the random solution works well. However, if most peers are in a different part of the world from you, your downloads can really suffer. The Ono plugin avoids this by proactively finding peers that are close to you (in a networking sense). These peers generally offer better response time, which can lead to significantly improved performance. We identify those peers that are near you by reusing network measurements from content distribution networks (CDNs), i.e. without performing extensive path measurement or pr... in Public bookmarkswith bittorrentclientdownloadgoalmainp2ppluginspeeds
Slackware Handbook | The Slackware Handbook The goal of the Slackware Handbook project is to create a document that closely resembles the FreeBSD Handbook in framework and content, but all about Slackware Linux. Envisioned by Narayan Newton and brought to life by Mad Penguin, the Slackware Handbook is unlike any other technical documentation in the world in that it is a completely 'live' medium. This is one book that will never age, never become obsolete, never collect dust... all because it is in perpetual development by dedicated technology professionals from around the globe.Anyone will be allowed to contribute, but everything submitted to the book is moderated by a peer review system. If something is inaccurate or misleading, it will be caught and fixed. If something is out of date, it wil... in Public bookmarkswith goalslackwarehandbookprojectdocumentcloselyresemblesfreebsdby 6 users

The Metasploit Project This is the Metasploit Project. The goal is to provide useful information to people who perform penetration testing, IDS signature development, and exploit research. This site was created to fill the gaps in the information publicly available on various exploitation techniques and to create a useful resource for exploit developers. The tools and information on this site are provided for legal penetration testing and research purposes only. in Public bookmarkswith metasploitprojectgoalprovideinformationpeopleperformpenetrationby 8 users
Welcome to XORP XORP is the eXtensible Open Router Platform. Our goal is to develop an open source software router platform that is stable and fully featured enough for production use, and flexible and extensible enough to enable network research. Currently XORP implements routing protocols for IPv4 and IPv6 and a unified means to configure them. In future, we would also like to support custom hardware and software forwarding architectures. in Public bookmarkswith xorpextensibleopenrouterplatformgoaldevelopsourceby 3 users
