Am 18.08.2011 kündigte HP an, für ca. 10 Milliarden US$ den Anbieter Autonomy zu übernehmen. | Mit der Ankündigung musste HP auch gleich eine Schlappe mitteilen: den Ausstieg aus Smartphone- und Tablet-geschäft. webOS hat hier keine Chance. Auch aus einigen Hardwarebereichen wie dem PC-Geschäft will sich HP zurückziehen. HP setzt auf Software und Services. Viele Analysten sehen hier HP auf dem Weg zu einem vergleichbaren Konzept wie IBM (Bloomberg, TechCrunch, ZDnet u.a.). Mit einem Big Bang soll dieser Markt erobert werden.
