One in three homeless Americans are military vets, and that figure is compounding. One in four vets with PTSD who sought medical care from the VA, regularly experienced a two to three month wait just to see a doctor as the ratio of doctors to patients is one doctor for every 500 patients. Over 53,000 soldiers are permanently wounded to the point that they cannot resumeactive duty.

Somewhere, as you read this, an American soldier has given blood for a "DNA sampling" to have stored and kept as a part of his or her military medical record. The reason: To have the ability to identify the body in the event such soldier should be lost on a battlefield or long into the future need identification from a war long passed.

Instead of talking about bigger military budgets (and can we stop calling them "defense" budgets please?), we should be talking about smaller military budgets. The latest one looks to be close to $800 billion, which is about double what it was when Bush first took (there's a well-chosen word) office in 2001.

I haven't let this go and I will not let it go. I have plans and thoughts. I will be damned if I let one Andrew, one Tyler, one "C" get lost between the lying and dying for the truth. Depleted Uranium is affecting my friends, my family and my brothers.

A bold pronouncement saying, "I do not support the troops," is not something that you expect to read or to hear in the mainstream media. And I hadn't. not until March 27, when a former marine of the Vietnam era had his sentiments unmistakably expressed in a letter sent to The Oregonian.

The Military Commissions Act of 2006 is eerily similar to Germany's Enabling Act of 1933, the passage of which followed Germany's own "Sept. 11" in the burning of its parliament building, the Reichstag, on Feb. 27, 1933.

What a shameful irony that hundreds of thousands of US troops told they're fighting for freedom could soon face court martial for refusing to take a vaccine which has led to disabilities, chronic illnesses and even death in others.

To limit the abuse of power in criminal prosecutions and to ensure that innocent people were not convicted and punished, our American ancestors deliberately set up a series of legal obstacles and roadblocks within the federal criminal-justice system, many of which stretched back centuries into English jurisprudence

I may be helping to pay the fare for the military, but I much prefer to get nothing in return. I mean nothing! Soldiers aren't fighting to defend America from enemy nations, nor are they fighting any frontlines of the war on terror. As for the idea that they are fighting for our freedoms, it borders on the ridiculous!
