Easter Surprise: Attack on Iran, New 9/11, or Worse

The Bush administration's message to its enemies has been very clear: if you possess WMD you're safe, and if you don't, you're fair game. Iraq had no nuclear weapons and was invaded, Iran doesn't as well and risks attack, yet that other "Axis of Evil" country, North Korea, reportedly does have nuclear weapons and is left alone.

As a result of Tuesday's elections, we can expect the growth in government to continue unabated - and probably to accelerate. We can be reasonably sure that the new Congress will pass a flood of bills that intrude government ever-more-deeply into our lives, as well as make government more costly. How can I be so sure?

Are we expected to be civil to any and all who in one form or another rule our lives, spiritually, politically or economically? Even when they show themselves immersed in corruption; or when we see them walking knee-deep in blood with little concern for human life?

The executive privilege has become one of the most creative political devices of the establishment for the promotion of secrecy and corruption. By declaring certain information inaccessible to all but only to the executive branch and its favored accomplices, this institution furnishes for itself a means by which it could conspire against us all.

One in three homeless Americans are military vets, and that figure is compounding. One in four vets with PTSD who sought medical care from the VA, regularly experienced a two to three month wait just to see a doctor as the ratio of doctors to patients is one doctor for every 500 patients. Over 53,000 soldiers are permanently wounded to the point that they cannot resumeactive duty.

Holding the reins guiding the world's sole remaining super-power, the United States' ruling elite have seized (or perhaps created) a ripe opportunity. Preying on ignorance and fear, they have convinced many amongst the masses to sell their souls for the "security" of fascist and corporate rule.

Sadly, the reality in the US is that there is little difference between Republicans and Democrats. While both parties give ample lip service to meeting the needs of the working class and the poor, most of the Duopoly's "elected" officials zealously devote themselves to advancing the interests of their corporate and aristocratic patrons.

With the upcoming implementation of the Real ID Act, it appears that many states are beginning to notice that they are being outright disrespected by the federal government which is supposed to be serving them. The states gave the federal government its power, and they can take it away too if they act together.

What is the worst step that's been taken on the road to American serfdom? In my view, it was allowing government to educate our children. Given that our children learn about the world from government employees, working in a government system, it's no surprise that children grow up believing...
